I’m trying something new here. I am going to run a quick series where I will ask a question to the Twitter-verse and then will compile the answers in a list which I will call the “HTD Twitter List“. The list will contain all of the recommendations (within reason) of products or services that people tweet to me, as well as a quick product description, link to the product page, suggested price, Amazon link, Twitter-er who submitted it and my quick comments on it. I’m considering even throwing in a quick poll at the end of each article where you can vote on what you think the best item on the list is. Who knows where this will go. It may be wildly successful or it may just die an ugly death. I’m always open to ideas and suggestions on this. Oh…and be sure to follow me on Twitter.
So, let’s start with today’s question: “What do YOU think the coolest Gadget under $100 is?” (Original Tweet). Price that is listed is either normal retail (that I could find on their product site) or Amazon’s suggested price. For your shopping pleasure, I have linked many of the products directly to Amazon. In most cases, the Amazon price is significantly lower than suggested MSRP.
Here are the nominations:

- HTD Comments: I think I need to get a pair of these for the office. My kids would have a great time as well but it would be hard to stop them from eating the marshmallows (which you aren’t supposed to do, btw).

Pretty interesting range of gadgets on this list. For me, I think it would tip my hat to the iPevo PoV USB Cam. I’m a gadget guy and this seems right up my alley. Looks portable and useful. However, for my kids, it would be a toss up between the Marshmallow Shooter Toy and the WowWee Flytech Dragon. The Flytech Dragon in my book does qualify a bit more as a true gadget.

Last time I checked the Audio-Technica ATH-ANC7 QuietPoint Active Noise-Cancelling Headphones were on-sale for $98 bucks which makes them a huge steal by comparison to bose. The reviews for the Audio-Technica were about equal to Bose for the noise-cancelling. People tended to say the A-T had a wider range of sound value and the bose were a bit more limited, but fuller. So if you're a rock/pop listener the A-T's were better and Bose was better for Jazz, Classical, etc.
Great list Michael!

Yes, that is a great deal on Amazon. While I like Bose (I have some for surround sound at home), they tend to be a bit pricier. If the components and innards are the same or similar, many times it is better to go with a lesser known brand (or one that doesn't spend gobs of money on their image/advertising).

Michael,
I saw the Marshmallow Shooter on the SkyMall magazine on a Southwest flight. There are other pretty cool gadgets in that magazine. People tend to ignore this magazine but if you are a gadget lover, make sure to take a look on your next flight.
BTW, if you fill a gun is not enough, you can go for the 40' Marshmallow Bazooka, http://tinyurl.com/5kzwvl

Nice! Yeah, SkyMall is great for ideas but price is high. Find there and then search on Amazon I guess. I don't fly much (grin).
I don't think that my wife would forgive me if I got the Shooter OR the Bazooka for the house!
