WordPress update: Version 2.2.3 released with Security Fix

Just updated my blog with WordPress version 2.2.3 (haven’t taken the plunge with the beta version 2.3 yet but I am working on a new theme). The 2.2.3 version is just a security release that they recommend people upgrade to, especially regarding two high-priority bugs. The following bugs were closed:

  • 3002 – On Windows machines register_activation_hook() does not work if plugin is in a subfolder of the plugins dir westi defect normal Administration 2.0.4
  • 3875 – Proposal for a new plugin architecture ryan defect normal Optimization 2.1.1
  • 3996 – MAGPIE_USER_AGENT lack of wp version westi enhancement normal Template 2.1.2
  • 4624 – Don’t return GMT date/time in XML-RPC, breaks some clients. anonymous defect normal Administration 2.2.2
  • 4729 – Wordpress Admin RTL files Bug Fix anonymous defect normal Administration 2.2.2
  • 4770 – Fix mt_allow_pings in metaWeblog.newPost (XML-RPC) anonymous defect normal Administration 
  • 4775 – Corrected indentation in wp-mail.php anonymous defect normal General 2.2.2
  • 4704 – Invalid RSS2 Comments Feed anonymous defect high Administration 2.2.1
  • 4720 – Users without unfiltered_html capability can post arbitrary html anonymous defect high Security 2.2.2

HTD Says: Bugs 4704 and 4720 are listed as High Priority. Be sure to update!
